Angel Reese arrived on the 2026 WNBA Finals stage with the Atlanta Dream on October 16 carrying something few players her age can claim: a resume packed with titles at nearly every level of basketball. At 24, the three-time All-Star and newly minted WNBA Defensive Player of the Year is chasing the one piece of hardware still missing, a WNBA ring, as the Dream face the expansion Valkyries.
According to Sporting News, Reese has played in a championship game on five different stages, spanning high school, AAU, college, the Unrivaled league, and international play. She has won some version of a basketball championship eight times, including four consecutive high school conference titles, a Nike EYBL crown, a college national championship, a Unrivaled title, and a FIBA World Cup gold medal.
Where Angel Reese has won championships
The list starts at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, where Reese led her team to four straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference titles from 2017 to 2020. She finished her prep career with 1,720 points, second in school history, and 1,250 rebounds. She also played volleyball, winning two IAAM C Conference championships as an outside hitter.
In the summer of 2019, Reese played for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit and won the championship with an 18-point, 11-rebound performance in a 57-47 win over All Iowa Attack, an Iowa-based program that gave Reese's team its toughest test in the final.
The 2023 national title game against Iowa
For Iowa fans, Reese's championship history carries one especially painful memory. After two seasons at Maryland, where she reached the Sweet 16 twice and won Big Ten regular season and tournament titles as a freshman, Reese transferred to LSU under coach Kim Mulkey.
In the 2023 NCAA championship game, Reese's Tigers dismantled Caitlin Clark and Iowa 102-85 in Dallas. Reese posted 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. The game, and Reese's on-court exchanges with Clark, became one of the most talked-about moments in women's college basketball history and helped fuel the sport's ratings boom.
How Reese reached the WNBA Finals with Atlanta
Reese's path to this Finals run included a trade to Atlanta that CBS Sports called one of the boldest moves in league history. Per CBS Sports, she averaged a career-high 16.4 points this season, led the WNBA in offensive and total rebounds, finished third in steals, and won Defensive Player of the Year.
In the closeout game of the semifinal sweep over the New York Liberty on October 9, Reese delivered 22 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in 37 minutes.
