Iowa, Louisiana Athletes Earn Class 4A All-State Honors
A small Louisiana town sharing our state's name is making big waves in high school sports. The Louisiana Sports Writers Association released its 2026 Class 4A All-State baseball and softball teams on Tuesday, and athletes from Iowa, Louisiana earned spots on the honorable mention lists.
Iowa, Louisiana Represented on Both Lists
Baseball player Kohen Boudreaux and softball players Addisyn Singletary and Alivia Singletary all earned Class 4A All-State honorable mention recognition. The honors highlight the kind of hard work and dedication that small-town athletes bring to the field, a value Iowans know well.
The town of Iowa, Louisiana, located in Vermilion Parish, has a population of roughly 3,000 people. Despite its size, the community continues to produce athletes who can compete with the best in the state.
West Ouachita Leads Area Honorees
West Ouachita High School in West Monroe had the strongest area representation, with five players earning honorable mention status across both sports. Senior Cali Smith, junior Emmey Tullos, and sophomores Trigger Booth, Kamryn Henley, and Holdyn Herring all received recognition.
The Chiefs' baseball squad struggled this season after a strong 2025 campaign that saw them reach the LHSAA Division II nonselect semifinals. This year, West Ouachita finished 14-20 and fell in the first round of the playoffs at Breaux Bridge. The softball team posted a 15-17 record and faced a tough closing stretch, playing three of its final five regular season games against state champions Sterlington and Quitman.
