Iowa Represents at Great American State Fair Amid Low Turnout
The Great American State Fair, a massive celebration of America's 250th birthday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., opened its doors to sparse crowds and empty booths from states that declined to participate. Iowa's booth, staffed by Rep. Randy Feenstra and his team, stood in contrast to the missing pavilions from several states whose leaders chose not to send official delegations.
What Is the Great American State Fair?
Organized by Freedom 250, the event has been promoted as a world-class exposition marking the nation's semiquincentennial. The fair features state pavilions, executive-branch displays, a Ferris wheel, a rodeo, and several Trump-branded elements including replica passports and a model of the president's proposed triumphal arch. An Abraham Lincoln hologram is also part of the attractions.
The fair is scheduled to run for two weeks leading up to the Fourth of July, giving visitors time to experience the exhibits and state booths.
