Iowa State Loses Top Recruit to Penn State in Punter Lucas Tenbrock

Iowa State football fans may want to keep an eye on a familiar name this season. Lucas Tenbrock, a standout punter who initially signed with the Cyclones in December, has officially joined Penn State's roster. The move highlights the competitive nature of college recruiting and the challenge Iowa State faces in holding onto top talent.

Tenbrock, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound specialist from St. Charles North High School in Illinois, was part of head coach Matt Campbell's 2026 recruiting class. But he flipped his commitment to Penn State in February, and this week he became an official Nittany Lion. Tenbrock is one of 12 of Penn State's 15 signees now on campus, with the remaining three expected to join soon.
