Iowa basketball fans have a new reason to cheer this week as former Georgia standout Dani Carnegie takes the court for Team USA at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup. Carnegie, who transferred to Iowa for the upcoming season, is one of six current NCAA student-athletes competing for the United States in the international tournament.

Who is Dani Carnegie?
Carnegie arrives in Iowa City with an impressive resume. The guard earned First Team All-SEC honors last season at Georgia, where she averaged 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Before her time in Athens, she started her career at Georgia Tech, where she led the Yellow Jackets with 66 three-pointers in 2024-25 and was named ACC Sixth Player of the Year.
Her accolades also include All-ACC freshman team recognition. Now she brings that scoring punch and playmaking ability to the Hawkeyes.
Carnegie's International Experience
This isn't Carnegie's first rodeo on the international stage. She previously competed on the FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas North Conference team and participated in the 2026 USA Basketball 3x3 development camp. She also has a background in soccer, having spent time with USA Soccer earlier in her athletic career.

McKinna Brackens, Arizona State forward: The 6-foot-1 forward posted 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds last season after transferring from UNLV. She earned 2026 All-Big 12 Third Team honors and helped win the FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas North Conference title. Brackens is also the daughter of former Texas All-American Tony Brackens, who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Katie Fiso, Oregon guard: Fiso is already a gold medalist, having won the 2023 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup. The All-Big Ten standout averaged 15.5 points and 6.2 assists last season for the Ducks.
Tori McKinney, Minnesota guard: McKinney led the Gophers with a team-high 12.7 points per game last season. She earned All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Big Ten Defensive Team honors while setting the program's single-season assist/turnover ratio record at 2.20.
USA Men's Team Features Collegiate Standouts
The men's side also boasts significant NCAA representation.
CJ Gunn, DePaul guard: Gunn averaged 13.1 points and 3.7 rebounds last season. He was named to the 2025 Preseason All-Big East and became the first DePaul player to lead the team in scoring in back-to-back seasons since Max Strus in 2019. He also helped win the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas North Conference title with an undefeated 18-0 record.
Eric Dailey Jr., UCLA guard: Dailey has represented Team USA since 2019. He won gold at the 2021 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, added another gold in 2022 with the U18 National Team, and competed in the 2026 NCAA tournament where he posted 20 points and five rebounds in a win over UCF.
Mark Armstrong and Alex Fudge: Both players have completed their collegiate careers. Armstrong played at Villanova and led the team in assists during the 2023-24 season. Fudge finished his career at Florida and previously won a silver medal at the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup.
