South Dakota Pitcher Hunter Halajian Heads to Northeast Iowa CC
Watertown High School graduate and standout left-handed pitcher Hunter Halajian has committed to play college baseball at Northeast Iowa Community College. Halajian, who currently plays for the Watertown Arrows Post 17, brings a 6-2 record and 66 strikeouts in 58 innings to the Iowa program. His commitment highlights a growing pipeline of regional athletes choosing Iowa colleges for their academic and athletic futures.
How Hunter Halajian earned his spot at Northeast Iowa Community College
Halajian helped lead Watertown to a runner-up finish in the South Dakota High School Baseball Association Class A tournament. He has continued to dominate on the mound during the 2026 American Legion Baseball season. Over 58 innings, the left-hander posted a 6-2 record with 66 strikeouts, a 1.36 WHIP, and a 3.02 earned run average.
His coach, Ryan Neale, attributes this success to relentless hard work and dedication.
