Walmart Shoppers in Iowa: Check Your Freezers and Pantries for These Recalled Items

Iowa families who shop at Walmart should take a moment to check their groceries. Several food recalls have hit the retail giant, affecting everything from frozen berries to bakery bread. The items were sold in stores across the country, including locations in Iowa.

Frozen Berries Recalled Over E. coli Concerns

A popular bag of frozen fruit sold under Walmart's Great Value brand has been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination. The recall covers the 10-ounce packages of Organic Triple Berry Blend with a best-by date of February 9, 2028.

The recall was initiated by Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., the same company that recalled blueberries sold at Publix. The frozen berries were distributed to Walmart stores in 27 states and territories, including Iowa. No illnesses have been linked to the contamination so far.

The FDA is urging customers to throw the product away or return it to Walmart for a full refund.

Candy Recall: Choking Hazard Prompts Warning

A popular sour candy sold at Walmart is also under recall. More than 2.3 million bottles of sour candy from The Ricky Joy Company are affected.

“The rolling ball on the recalled candy bottles can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking hazard,” a notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission read.

The affected bottles were manufactured between January 2023 and May 2026. Parents are urged to take the candy away from children immediately and contact The Ricky Joy Company for a refund.

Mangoes Recalled Over Salmonella Fears

Over 300 boxes of Martina-brand mangoes have been pulled from Walmart shelves due to salmonella concerns. While none of the mangoes have tested positive for salmonella, the recall was initiated by Panorama Produce out of caution over possible contamination in their harvest.

The mangoes were sold from August 10 through August 21 in select Walmart stores in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Iowa shoppers who may have traveled or purchased these items should check their receipts.

Customers can dispose of the mangoes or return them to Walmart for a full refund.

Soup Kits Recalled for Listeria Risk

Walmart's exclusive Marketside Tomato Bisque Soup Kits are under recall due to possible Listeria contamination. The FDA announced the recall, which was produced by Kettle Cuisine LLC of Maryland.

The product “has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,” the FDA said. The soup kits were sold at Walmart stores in 29 states from June 30 to July 7.

Bakery Rolls Recalled in 19 States

Walmart also issued a massive recall for 735,000 rolls sold at its bakery counters. General Mills recalled Pillsbury Hard Roll Dough and a single batch of Pillsbury Kaiser Roll Dough.

The dough was baked into fresh bread and sold in Walmart's bakeries. In July, the FDA classified the issue as a Class II recall, meaning the rolls could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems if ingested.

The rolls have “Better if Used By” dates of October 12 and 13. The affected dough was distributed in 19 states, though Iowa was not on the initial list. Still, shoppers should verify any bakery items they purchased recently.

Iowa families should check their freezers, pantries, and refrigerators for these recalled items. If you have any of the affected products, do not consume them. Return them to your local Walmart for a full refund or dispose of them safely.
