Iowa Hospital Launches First Standalone Mobile Care Program
Greater Regional Health has launched Iowa's first standalone Mobile Integrated Health program, bringing critical medical care directly to rural patients. Backed by a $165,000 grant from the COPIC Medical Foundation, the program redirects care away from emergency rooms and into homes, earning the hospital national recognition as Changemaker of the Year.
Bringing Healthcare Directly to Rural Iowans
For patients living in rural communities, getting to the doctor can be a serious challenge. Greater Regional Health created its Mobile Integrated Health Services Department this spring to solve that problem. The program focuses on serving patients in their own communities rather than requiring them to find transportation to the hospital.
