Jordan Allen Leads K-State Defense With Old School Toughness
Kansas State Wildcats defensive end Jordan Allen is turning heads this offseason. He is bringing a brand of toughness that fans love and opponents fear. As the only returning true pass rusher with real game experience, Allen is ready to lead the Wildcats' front line.
Allen embodies the hardworking, no-nonsense mentality that defines the heartland. He is majoring in business administration, proving he values discipline off the field just as much as on it. After redshirting in 2023, he refused to sit back and wait for opportunities. He went out and earned them.
Proving His Worth on the Field
Allen saw action in all 13 games during the 2024 season. He played as a reserve defensive end and on special teams. He tallied five tackles that year, including a crucial 7-yard sack against West Virginia. He stepped up when the team's depth was challenged, logging eight defensive snaps against both Colorado and the Mountaineers.
Last season, Allen took his game to the next level. He played in all 12 games, racking up 17 tackles, five tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks over 335 defensive snaps. He also contributed 74 special teams plays. He opened the season with a statement, recording two tackles and a sack against Iowa State in Ireland. Iowans will certainly remember that trip across the pond, where Allen made his presence felt early against the Cyclones.
He posted a career-high five tackles with a tackle for loss at Oklahoma State. He followed that up with a career-best two tackles for loss at Utah, which included a sack. His consistency earned him Academic All-Big 12 honors, showing that true student-athletes still thrive in college sports today.
The Right Stuff: Work Ethic and Leadership
Allen's position coach, Buddy Wyatt, praised his physical development and dedication to the scheme in 2024.
